This morning, in an incredibly organized fashion, the
shipboard community disembarked from the MV Explorer aboard our lifeboats
(called tenders, in this case) to head out to our various excursions.
Jayne and I did a tour that included a visits one of Ireland’s
thousands of ancient castle remants and to an even older stone monolith that
was once a burial place, and, the highlight, a ferry boat ride to the base of
the famous Cliffs of Moher on the southwestern Irish Atlantic Coast.
Afterwards we ate in a classic Irish Pub in the village of
Doolin where we enjoyed hearty and very large bowls of Irish Stew and a pint of
Guinness Stout. We returned along
a beautiful coastal road and then had a bit of time to see the downtown section
of Galway before heading back to the shp
The slideshow on the right shows the highlights.
