London

Tonight we are in a youth hostel in London. This morning we boarded our bus (a half hour late) at the port in Southampton for the two hour drive from into London. There were some snafus at the youth hostel where our rooms weren't ready for us. So we got off to a late start. We spent several hours in the British Museum (think Great Britain's Smithsonian Institute) and then sat for a time and watched people in Russell Square. The highlights in the museum were the Egyptian mummies, the statue from Easter Island, a huge jade turtle from India, I believe, and... gee there too many incredible things to name.

We met Jordan Landes at the Russell Square subway station and she showed us some of the buildings associated with the University of London where she is a librarian. (Barry has stayed in Jordon's mother Judy's house in Winchester when he is there during the week for a long long time.) Then we ate a wonderful dinner of Turkish delights at a restaurant called Tas.

We called it an early night tonight as we are both exhausted and Barry seems to be coming down with a cold.
