Travel to Heidelberg

We have arrived at our bed and breakfast in Heidelberg. Barry made it a bit more of an adventure than it needed to be. He had booked the place on a website and had printed the reservation confirmation, but not the email from the homeowner with the address and phone number. We were able to find the street and what we thought was the street number. Turned out that was actually the zip code. So we had a street, but no address!

The street was only a block long but nothing looked like the picture on the printout from the webpage. I asked for some help on the street and nobody knew the people we were looking for by name. Two college age girls with excellent English were trying to help. One was bringing her dog to a vet. The vet invited us in his place because there was a thunderstorm coming. We were there probably forty-five minutes. He let Barry use his computer to try to access an old email that had the address. No luck. Finally, his wife suggested we look them up in the online German telephone book. We did. There were only two Lutzmanns in Heidelberg and only one on this street. Within minutes we'd found the place. It is really a very large apartment. Bedroom, dining room, kitchen, bathroom. Except for the bathroom all quite large and comfortable. They are bringing us sausage, cheese, and bread to go with the cereal, milk, coffee and tea that's already here. Plus they have excellent internet access...which has been difficult to come by on this trip.

We are in the University neighborhood and supposedly there are great German and Italian restaurants within walking distance nearby.

Tomorrow we will go looking for our ancestral villages.
